Meet Our Team
The people at the heart of Roger Dugmore Safaris.
Roger
Guide/Host
Meet the legend himself: Originally from Kenya, moved to Botswana in the early 70’s. Worked with the legendary Jack Bousfield at the present-day Jack’s Camp. He was one of the founders of Kalahari Kavango Safari Company and co-owner of Meno A Kwena Tented Camp. Roger has since 1989 focused on mobile safaris in Botswana. His experience of 30 years speaks for itself. He has a genuine passion and love for nature.
Justin
Guide/Host
“I have a deep love and passion for wildlife and the natural world. My interest is what drives my motivation to become one of the best guides in Africa. My enthusiasm and passion are ignited by being able to share and teach the knowledge I have acquired to enhance our outlook on the last remaining true wild places on earth. We must preserve and protect it for future generations to come.”
Dorcas
Chef
“I love cooking, I have always loved cooking. My passion for cooking started when I was 23 years old. My favourite things to cook over the fire are scones, freshly baked bread and Shepard’s pie as these were the first dishes to ignite my passion. I love working for mobile safaris because it allows for me to spend time in the bush and be at home with my children. Mobile safaris involve heavy lifting and hard work. This helps to keep me strong and fit.”
Mashabe
Waiter
“I love working with people, the team here at RDS is very friendly and welcoming. I love interacting with our guests and meeting people from around the world as I always learn something new. I love to make people laugh. I appreciate the opportunities RDS has given me as I have been able to see new places like Lekubu Island in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.”
Rosinah
Tent Keeper
“I enjoy house keeping very much, making different animals with towels as decoration for the beds brings out my creative side. I love interacting with our guests on arrival explaining how everything works and settling them in.”
Ikanyeng
Tent Keeper
“I love working here because Roger treats us well. This job helps me to meet people from different background and places which makes me learn new things with every trip. I have learnt to co-exist with animals and respect their habitat which by extension is my workplace.”
Goabaone
Driver/Camp Assistant
“I love to drive the truck and being in the bush, the sounds of the animals are therapeutic, listening to birds in the morning, elephants during the day and lions at night is such an amazing experience.”
